Amherst Lake is one of two natural lakes formed along the Black River in Plymouth, Vermont. Amherst Lake activities include swimming, boating and fishing; all set in an incredible backdrop of some of Vermont's most beautiful hills.
There are no motors allowed on Amherst Lake making it quiet and great for sailing, paddleboarding, canoing and kayaking. In addition to the beauty of this lake, it is bordered by preserved forest land.
Within a short drive of the lake you can visit Coolidge State Forest, Coolidge State Park, Okemo State Forest, Green Mountain National Forest, Buttermilk Falls, and many conservation-protected acres. Summer near Killington/Pico offers gondola rides and the Okemo summer resort adventure activities.
